On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse will pass directly over Mallorca, Spain. We’ll gather in an extraordinary villa in Fornalutx—a UNESCO World Heritage village—perfectly positioned within the path of totality. From there, we’ll explore the island’s stunning cliffs, climb above the sea, and experience the eclipse together from the water—creating a truly unforgettable, shared moment.

Where are we staying?

Combine Mallorca’s beautiful beaches, rugged coastline, and the dramatic Tramuntana mountains, and it’s easy to see why the island has become a world-class climbing destination. Whether you’re new to climbing or a seasoned traveler seeking fresh challenges, Mallorca offers something for everyone.

Climbing here is well established, with an incredible range of routes on pristine limestone—from single-pitch sport climbs to classic multi-pitch adventures. Expect everything from technical slabs and steep overhangs to juggy tufas and striking crack lines.

We’ll be based in a beautiful and comfortable villa in the mountains, just a short walk from the heart of town and local restaurants. With a swimming pool, spacious decks, and inviting shared spaces, it’s the perfect place to relax, connect, and enjoy the rhythm of the island after full days on the rock.

About Fornalutx

Fornalutx is a charming village nestled in the Tramuntana mountains, overlooking the Sóller Valley. Known for its beautifully preserved stone architecture and winding cobbled streets, it has been recognized as one of Spain’s most beautiful villages.

Set within the Sierra de Tramuntana—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—the area offers a unique blend of natural beauty, history, and quiet mountain charm.

Mallorca is without a doubt one of Europe’s most beautiful and diverse sport climbing destinations. With an abundance of high-quality limestone, the island offers an unparalleled variety of routes across all grades.

But it’s not just the climbing that makes Mallorca so special. The island is known for its dramatic coastline, secluded coves, limestone mountains, and rich Spanish culture—woven through historic architecture, local wineries, fresh produce, and stunning Mediterranean beaches.

7 nights accommodation in a shared double room
(Private room available upon request for an additional fee)
6 self-serve (help-yourself) breakfasts at the retreat house
2 yoga classes
1 Thai massage workshop
4 guided climbing days at some of Mallorca’s most stunning crags, with integrated mindful movement and breathwork
1 private boat day for a 6-hour deep water solo (DWS) experience, culminating in a once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the full solar eclipse from the water

Additional Experience:

We coordinate and make reservations for most group dinners at our favorite local restaurants (meals not included), creating space for connection, great food, and shared evenings together

Airfare to Mallorca and transportation to the retreat house
Rental cars or in-island transportation
(We recommend renting or sharing a car with other participants. While we’re unable to arrange rentals due to liability, we’re happy to help coordinate ride shares within the group. An international driving permit is required.)

Heidi Wirtz

AMGA Certified Rock Guide

Heidi is an accomplished climber in all realms of the sport. She has been guiding for over 20 years, is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide and professional climber for La Sportiva and PMI Ropes. Along with her passion for climbing she has taught yoga for climbers for over a decade. She works with people to get them back into the flow state and help them realize that this is a natural state of our being. We will work on the mat and on the wall to help us grow and develop.

Marc Pietrolungo aka "Petch"

AMGA Certified Rock Instructor

Petch has been climbing since 1989 and his passion for teaching and guiding are equal to his insatiable stoke for climbing in general. He is owner of Lovers Leap Guides and has developed quite a lot of the climbing in this area. He is an AMGA Certified Rock Instructor
